![]() ![]() This is a must have since ice cream melts, especially fast in the middle of summer. Since I hosted the event in a public space, I rented an ice cream cart (sticking with the vintage vibe) and hired my cousin to work as the “soda jerk” and serve up the ice cream in a cup or cone. I created a backdrop of “sprinkles” and encouraged guests to snap pictures with their ice cream. In keeping with the vintage theme, I brought my pink bike for the party, filled it with flowers and Tillamook Ice Cream. ![]() I had also talked about the Birthday Cake and Oregon Strawberry flavors so much, everyone wanted to experience euphoria as I described it. I wasn’t surprised that everyone from friends with newborns to my great aunt showed up to the party. I think ice cream is made to be shared with friends and family of all ages so I was pleased by the party turnout. I also didn’t limit the party invite to just one group of friends. I live and basically do everything in Pasadena so it was important to have the party somewhere that new and old friends could meet. The first place that popped up was One Colorado in Pasadena, which made it a perfect location to extend the party invitation to followers and community members. I knew I wanted to host a party in a beautiful and charming space that evoked a sense of vintage neighborhood block parties. When Tillamook Ice Cream reached out to me to host an ice cream tasting party featuring their delicious flavors and new packaging, I was elated! I thought, “Have the ice cream gods finally heard me?” I kid, but I have always wanted to host a fun ice cream related party for my friends and family and this was the perfect opportunity! I quickly started thinking of all of all the fun party ideas and my guest list and of course bought all the Tillamook flavors and considered it research. If you’ve been following me on Instagram for a long time, then you know my profile used to say “I calculate the value of things in ice cream.” I love ice cream and I love talking about how much I love ice cream. Score: 4 knives. The Best Party Ever! Ice Cream Tasting & Sundae Bar with Tillamook The first bite is sinfully sweet, but when you reach the tart lemon sorbet in the center, the flavors mingle and provide a perfect contrast. It’s lemon sorbet surrounded by vanilla ice cream and coated in white chocolate. Whenever you’re in the mood for a sweet treat, as a matter of fact, clocks be damned! But Tillamook really nails it with the Lemonilla bar. This is a pretty basic ice cream bar, but for those whose motto is “why mess with perfection,” it’s the perfect choice for a warm summer night. Their vanilla ice cream is already decadent, so enrobing it in chocolate only increases the “mmm” factor. Once again, it’s the quality of the ingredients that sets Tillamook apart. We tried the Old-Fashioned Vanilla and Lemonilla flavors, and both were rich, creamy, and delicious. ![]() Tillabars come in four different flavors: Old-Fashioned Vanilla, Mooocha Latte, Salted Caramel Swirl, and Lemonilla. So when Tillamook introduced a line of ice cream bars known as Tillabars a few months ago, I was eager to try them out. Tillamook is a little pricier than some brands, but worth it I refuse to buy any other brand of cheese, and usually opt for their other products, as well, for the simple fact that they taste better. Over the years, their product line has expanded to include butter, sour cream, yogurt, and ice cream. Technically known as Tillamook County Creamery Association, this dairy cooperative located on the Oregon coast began producing cheese in 1946. If you’re unfamiliar with Tillamook, then you have my pity. Tillamook’s new line of Tillabars definitely falls into the latter category. What’s not to love about vanilla ice cream coated in chocolate and eaten off a stick? Since their invention in 1921 there have been plenty of imitators, some lousy and some great. Most of us have enjoyed an occasional Eskimo Pie over the years. ![]()
